Tin slag is the waste residue generated after smelting tin lead ore or other tin containing ore materials such as cassiterite. Due to the smelting process, tin slag contains a large amount of tin oxide.
Therefore, tin slag has extremely high recycling value. Usually, equipment that produces tin slag cannot smelt tin slag anymore, so a DC plasma furnace is needed to smelt and recover metallic tin.
Due to the lower smelting temperature, lower density, and longer reduction time of tin, tin slag furnaces often have larger furnace shell sizes than conventional furnace types. Processing one ton of raw materials requires about 750 kilowatt hours of electricity, and a set of 315kVA equipment can process 9 tons of raw materials in a day, with extremely high profits.
The smelting process of tin slag is similar to the conventional ironmaking process. It is necessary to first analyze and test the raw materials, and then adjust the quantity ratio of reducing agents and fluxes based on the test results. After the prepared material is pressed into balls, it is directly fed into the furnace for smelting. Finally, alloy ingots of tin and other metals are obtained. The other metals are mainly lead.
