The DC electric arc furnace for calcium aluminate smelting is a device used for the smelting of calcium aluminate. Calcium aluminate is an important metallurgical raw material used as a deoxidizer in the steelmaking process. The calcium aluminate smelting submerged arc furnace utilizes the high temperature and chemical reaction principle of the arc to convert aluminum oxide powder and lime into calcium aluminate.
The submerged arc furnace for calcium aluminate smelting is usually composed of the furnace body, electrodes, power supply, and cooling system. The furnace body is a closed container used to accommodate raw materials and arc reactions. The electrode is the part that provides electrical energy through a power source and generates a high-temperature arc. The cooling system is used to maintain the temperature of the power supply and electrodes within a controllable range.
In the smelting process of calcium aluminate, the raw materials are first stirred evenly and pressed into pellets, and then the pellets are placed into the furnace body. Apply high voltage through electrodes to generate arc discharge. During arc discharge, the raw materials will undergo a chemical reaction to produce calcium aluminate.
Aluminum ash can also be used instead of aluminum oxide powder for smelting, which can reduce costs and increase profits.
